Elliott Sadler had a great Saturday winning his first Truck series race but in the Sprint Cup race he was
caught up when slowing for Kurt Busch's wreck ahead. Busch was bumped-drafted by Jimmie Johnson, hit the
wall and slid down into the grass hitting the inside wall while Sadler hit the guardrails and dirt-berm head on.
The hit was so hard his left front tire and engine were torn out of the car. Elliott was visibly shaken-up but
was released from the in-field care center shortly afterwards.
The wreck happened with 35 laps to go and resulted in a red-flag stop with men working on the barricade on
turn 2 where Kurt Busch had crashed.
At the re-start, Jeff Gordon was 1st, Juan Pablo Montoya was 2nd, and Tony Stewart was 3rd. They went around
about 5 times and #33 Clint Bowyer had to pit when pit road was closed with a R/F tire that had lost tread so he went to
the end of the line. When the lead car pulled off and pit road was open almost everyone pitted. Sam Hornish was 2 laps
down and stayed out to become the race leader.
Jeff Gordon took 4 tires and lost 9 spots. Tony Stewart and Juan Montoya also took 4 tires. Greg Biffle took 2 tires
and came out in the lead. Carl Edwards and Mark Martin also took 2 tires and came out 2nd and 3rd.

Juan Pablo Montoya was looking as the dominant car leading 86 laps. A late race pit stop and taking 4 tires when many
others took 2 tires changed Montoya's position from 1st to 7th. Then he got loose, hit the wall and came back down in front
of Dale Earnhardt, Jr. where they collided Left Front to Right Rear on Montoya who was out. Dale Jr. went from 10th to 27th,

Jimmie Johnson started -- and on lap 117 came into pit road with a right front flat. Pit road was closed and he was
penalized for a lap but his tire had the top layer ripped off and it really was urgent that he change the tire.
After that on lap 122 there was a red flag stop for damage to the race track. Two spots on the race track had
pavement come out and were patched with apoxy. It was an hour and forty minute red-flag stop waiting for the apoxy to harden and begin racing
again. The apoxy refused to cure due to the wet conditions from Friday's rain and the colder weather. They resorted to tourches to
warm up and dry out the patch.
